Short film · Unpaid · Non-union · Madison, WI
Sam’s family is stuck. To shake them out of it, she hires a teenage local-theater actor named Max to “play” her absent Dad for a night. What begins as a surreal, mustache-clad performance at the dinner table evolves into a journey through family memories.
Roles
- Max Lead · Female, 13–17
- An aspiring actor, she takes the “job” of playing the family’s absent father. She approaches everything in life with a mature, professional attitude.
- Sam Lead · Female, 11–15
- The architect of the evening; young, optimistic, hopeful.
- Jodi Lead · Female, 13–17
- Sam’s older sister. Not a fan of the evening’s entertainment. Sarcastic, pessimistic.
- Mom / Stacy Lead · Female, 40–55
- Single parent. Skeptical, but ultimately deeply loving and resilient.
- Grandma Female, 60–75
- She arrives late. Kind, unflappable, and a dry sense of humor.
